A look at the delicious food in Twickenham's new Mediterranean supermarket

Have you visited Twickenham's new Mediterranean supermarket yet?

The store on Heath Road opened late last year and is packed with tasty food drawn from Turkish and other Middle Eastern and Mediterranean cultures.

As someone with Iranian heritage I can vouch for their ghormeh sabzi which is usually a complicated herb stew that you can spend hours making.

But grab a tin from the supermarket and serve it with steamed rice (and optional tender lamb) for an easy route to a classic Persian dish.

Just make sure you don't eat the limou (dried limes)!

Mediterranean Supermarket also stocks spinach and feta spiral pies from the puntastically named Filosophy.

These are ready to pop straight in the oven and can be served with a salad and optional additional carbs such as skinny fries.

You can also find a wide range of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern staples including olives, honey, tahini, herbs and spices, tea and coffee, delicious fresh bread and, of course, Turkish delight. Click through the carousel at the top of this story for pictures of what's on offer!

If there's something you want them to stock, the store takes requests.

Owner Sevgiler said last month: "We really appreciate all of the wonderful feedback from our lovely customers.

"We aim to fulfil all requests and if there is a certain item or product you would like to find in our store, that we don't already have, please let us know and we will do our very best to get it stocked."

You can email him on [email protected], message them on their Facebook page or ask in store.
