A new Japanese restaurant and takeaway opened this week on Church Street.

You Me Sushi opened on Tuesday in the old hair salon opposite SNAX.

It sells hot and cold food including sushi, currys, soups, gyoza, and poke bowls.

General Manager Aziz Ghouse said the first week has been quiet for the new restaurant but things are picking up.

He said: "Now customers are coming in - we are hoping that the weekend will be busier as we've been told weekends are a busy time.

"The weather has also been bad this week!"

As of Monday customers won't have to brave the weather any longer as hospitality can open inside, and You Me Sushi will have a few seats along the window.

He said what makes You Me Sushi stand out is its product range.

"The taste of our sushi is completely different to other brands," he said.

"We focus on quality - not on counting calories."

It also has vegan and hot options which differentiate it from other sushi restaurants.

Grouse has worked in hospitality for a long time but the whole team on Church Street is new to the sushi company - so pop in and say hello to them!
