An exciting opportunity has arisen to join a brand-new specialist all-through school in Twickenham, supporting children and young people with autism (ASC) and social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) needs.
The school provides a nurturing, structured, and inclusive learning environment where pupils are supported to develop confidence, independence, and emotional resilience. Small class sizes and a highly experienced team ensure that each pupil receives the individual attention and care they need to thrive.
The RoleWe are seeking a committed Behaviour Support Assistant to join the KS2 team. The role involves working closely with pupils in small classes, supporting them in overcoming barriers to learning through positive behaviour strategies, tailored interventions, and engaging activities.
Responsibilities-
Providing 1:1 and small-group support to Primary or Secondary pupils with ASC or SEMH and associated needs.

Using behaviour management skills to de-escalate challenging situations calmly and effectively.

Acting as a mentor, building positive relationships to help pupils re-engage with learning.

Supporting the delivery of bespoke educational and pastoral interventions.

Encouraging emotional regulation, resilience, and independence.

Previous experience working with children, young people or vulnerable adults.

Confidence in managing behaviour and supporting pupils with SEMH.

Resilience, patience, empathy, and the ability not to take things personally.
