East Twickenham's new Lidl supermarket opens this week.

The long-awaited new store on Richmond Road will open its doors to customers on Thursday, February 25.

A banner confirming the date was put on display this afternoon behind the nearby bus stop.

As part of the development, Deer Park primary school will move into the first and second floors above the supermarket.

Lidl said previously: "The new build details a 1,123m² store on the 3,356m² site, with plans to create up to 40 new jobs.

"The supermarket will boast state of the art facilities including an in-store bakery, customer toilets and ample parking for both cars and bicycles.

"The upper floors of the supermarket will accommodate a two-form entry primary school, Deer Park."
