It looks like Twickenham will be waking up to a blanket of snow tomorrow morning.

Light snow has been forecast to fall from 3am on Saturday (January 16), turning into heavy snowfall by around 8am.

It will soon turn to sleet, with rain forecast for the rest of the morning.

The day will warm up as it progresses, reaching 8C by 2pm.

A Met Office weather warning has been issued: "A band of heavy snow may bring disruption as it moves eastwards on Saturday."

The forecast said to expect:

- possible delays or cancellations to rail and air travel

- possible travel delays on roads stranding some vehicles and passengers

- some rural communities could become cut off

- power cuts may occur and other services, such as mobile phone coverage, may be affected

The weather looks much brighter on Sunday - it should be a very sunny morning and early afternoon.
