11-year-old girl knocked off bike in car collision – 'suffered leg injuries'

An 11-year-old girl knocked off her bike in a collision with a car near Twickenham Green suffered leg injuries, according to the police.

The incident occurred at around 3.20pm on Wednesday afternoon and saw both police and ambulances race to the scene, which was cordoned off for hours.

This morning the police said: "Police were called to a Road Traffic Collision on the 10th November 2021 at around 15.20.

"A female child was found with injury to her leg. The cyclist, an 11-year-old girl, was taken to hospital by the London Ambulance Service. Her injuries are not believed to be life-threatening.

"A road closure was put in place shortly after and closed at around 18.46."

London Ambulance Service said: "We were called at 3.18pm to reports of a road traffic collision involving a car and a bicycle on The Green, Twickenham.

"We sent an ambulance crew and a clinical team leader.

"We treated a child at the scene and took them to a major trauma centre as a priority."
