A wooden bench that is designed to promote calm and quiet reflection has arrived in the Borough courtesy of Netflix.

It has been donated by the streaming giant to mark the launch of the third series of the Ricky Gervais series After Life.

The bench is one of 25 donated to Councils across the country as part of a partnership with the charity CALM - Campaign Against Living Miserably.

A bench is a focal point of the acclaimed drama as Tony, a reporter on a struggling local newspaper, tries to come to terms with the loss of the love of his life, Lisa, played by Kerri Godliman.

He is often seen sitting on the bench discussing the loss of his wife with Anne, played by Penelope Wilton, who is also coming to terms with bereavement.

The bench serves as a place for Tony to reflect, share, listen and, ultimately, to grow and find hope for the future.

The CALM charity offers help, advice and information to anyone who is struggling or in crisis.

Those who visit the bench will be able to access resources from CALM via a unique QR code with the wording 'Life can be tough, but there's always hope. Campaign Against Living Miserably is by your side', and online by visiting CALM website.

The bench is inscribed with a quote from After Life 'Hope is Everything' and is located in York House Gardens, Twickenham, TW1 3DD.
