During the Six Nations clash between England and Italy at the Allianz Stadium in Twickenham on Sunday 9 March, a drone carrying a Palestine flag was spotted flying above the grounds during the match.

Palestine Action group admitted to flying the drone during the 67th minute of the game to send a message to stadium owners Allianz, who allegedly insure Elbit Systems - a company that manufactures a significant portion of Israel's drones - demanding that they stop insuring the weapons manufacturer.

On its website, the activist group wrote: "Unlike the Elbit drones, used to kill and maim Palestinians, our drone came in peace, but with a message, for stadium owners Allianz, Elbit's insurers – demanding Allianz stop insuring Elbit."

Palestine Action's direct action campaign is focused on "shutting down Israeli weapons factories on British soil" and targeting those it believes facilitate warfare.

The group has already targeted dozens of Allianz's offices across Britain and Europe, forcing them to temporarily close on several occasions.

Most recently, it targeted Allianz's offices in the City of London, covering them with red paint.

A Palestine Action spokesperson commented: "Without the insurance provided by Allianz, Elbit could not build Israeli weapons in Britain which are tested on Palestinians.

"The military killer drones made by Elbit come to kill and maim Palestinians, however our drone came with a simple message: Allianz must drop Elbit."
