The London Fire Brigade was called to Heath Road, Twickenham on Tuesday, 20 August after a bin caught on fire.

CCTV footage from Soul Organic shows the moment one bin from a row in front of the business goes up in flames at 6am.

The London Fire Brigade say: "One fire engine and around five firefighters tackled a bin fire on Heath Road in Twickenham.

"One recycling bin was damaged by fire. There were no reports of any injuries.

"The Brigade was called at 6:02am and the fire was under control by 6:30am.

"One crew from Twickenham Fire Station attended the scene.

"The cause of the fire is under investigation."

Linda Birch from the neighbouring Brewery Market and friend of Saba Navalan - Owner of Soul Organic - says the bins were moved from a nearby road to outside the cafe after residents complained.

They both say they have been "trying" to get the bins relocated with the recent incident coming as no surprise.

Linda explains to Twickenham Nub News: "He [Saba] has loads of issues with trash, rats and fly tipping.

"We've been talking to loads of people at the council and no one can help.

"They were put right in front of his shop without any notification some years ago.

"Local businesses regularly dump oil in there, so we have been concerned about a fire hazard and now this."

Due to one of the council bins catching fire, Soul Organic was unable to trade on Tuesday, impacting the business.

"He works so hard he does not deserve this," says Linda. "We just want the bins moved once and for all.

"This part of the high street could be so much better and more vibrant if it wasn't for those bins."

Later that day, the damaged bins were replaced with new ones which Linda claims are closer to the cafe than before.

Richmond Council has been approached for a comment.
