Chelsea striker Sam Kerr pleads not guilty to 'racially aggravated offence' in Twickenham

Chelsea striker, Sam Kerr, has pleaded not guilty to a 'racially aggravated offence' which took place in Twickenham.
The BBC has reported that a Metropoliton Police Spokesperson said: "The charge relates to an incident involving a police officer who was responding to a complaint involving a taxi fare on 30 January 2023 in Twickenham.
"Kerr was charged on 21 January this year "with a racially aggravated offence under Section 4A [of the] Public Order Act 1986."
Kerr pleaded not guilty to the offence at a plea and trail preparation hearing at Kingston Crown Court on Monday 4 March.
She is due to appear at Wimbledon Magistrates Court on 1 February 2025.
The Guardian has reported that Kerr, who plays as a striker for Chelsea and is the captain of Australian Women's team, The Matilda's, became involved in a dispute about a taxi fare after a night out in south-west London and that she allegedly called a police officer a 'stupid white bastard'.
She joined Chelsea in 2020 and has scored 99 goals for the team, in 128 games.
Kerr is currently sidelined after sustaining a anterior cruciate ligament (ACL) injury at Chelsea's warm weather training camp in Morocco in January.
