Clapham Junction station has been evacuated amidst havoc being wreaked by Storm Eunice across London and the UK.

Passengers are being turned away from Clapham Junction and all train services have been suspended across the South Western Railway Network, leaving hundreds of people stranded.

Reports the storm had forced the station's evacuation emerged on Twitter at 12:32pm.

A Customer Services spokesperson confirmed the closure, telling Clapham Nub News no one is being allowed in.

A red weather warning issued for London forecast winds of up to 90mph were likely to cause travel disruption.

SWR has told people currently on a train that it cannot guarantee they will be able to complete their journey and it will not be providing any replacement transport.

The company said: "Do not attempt to travel. We will update you when things change."
