A Twickenham golf club welcomed a new member of staff this week as part of the Government's Kickstart Scheme.

Jeremy joined the front of house team at Fulwell Golf Club.

He will be working at the club for six months.

The club said it is also hiring members of staff in its greenkeeping department and in the kitchen through the scheme, to help offer experience in various areas of a golf club.

What is the Kickstart Scheme?

The Kickstart Scheme gives opportunities to 16-24 year olds by providing funding to employers to create job placements.

Gov.uk explains that employers of all sizes can apply for funding which covers:

- 100% of the National Minimum Wage (or the National Living Wage depending on the age of the participant) for 25 hours per week for a total of 6 months

- associated employer National Insurance contributions

- employer minimum automatic enrolment contributions

Employers can spread the start date of the job placements up until the end of December 2021.
