Nolte Küchen's application for new external signs and a new door at 400 Richmond Road has been approved by Richmond Council.

The site was previously home to another showroom, Color 1 Design, which closed after 40 years due to the rent becoming "too much" for the business to "absorb".

Nolte Küchen applied to install:

  • One externally illuminated fascia sign above the main showroom entrance.
  • One small-scale projector sign displaying a static image/logo onto the pavement area in front of the unit (operating only during opening hours).

On behalf of the German company, DSignature Interiors Ltd said in the application: "The proposed signage supports the continued viable commercial use of the property, ensuring its occupation and maintenance, which are vital to the conservation of non-designated heritage assets."

Nolte is a family-owned company that has been manufacturing kitchens in Germany since 1958.

According to the brand, it is known for its "high-quality, precision-engineered kitchens" and are the second-largest kitchen manufacturer in Germany.
