Grey Court Sixth Form is celebrating its best-ever set of A-Level and BTEC results, with students securing a string of top grades and university places.

This summer, 16% of A-Level grades were at A*, a 7% rise on last year, with 39% at A*–A and 69% at A*–B.

For BTECs, 32% of grades were at Distinction* and 77% at Distinction*/Distinction.

Headteacher Mr Rhodes said the achievements were the result of a united effort: "Some might say, and I would agree, that this is due to the industry of students, staff and parents across the Grey Court community.

"In short, we all do whatever it takes to achieve the best results for each cohort that we serve."

Among the standout achievers was Bertie Budden, who achieved four A*s and will study Natural Sciences at Cambridge.

Bertie said he was looking forward to "pursuing his passion for the study of Newtonian mechanics."

Other full A* sets were recorded by Hamzah Malik (Mathematics, King's College London), Hana Saleh (Law, LSE), Sofiane Tahir (Computer Science, King's College London) and Isla Dempster (Law, University of Liverpool).

A further 25 students achieved all A*/A grades, including Lemma Mohamed (Medicine, University of Leeds) and Carlo Tillman (Veterinary Science, University of Bristol).

Grey Court also celebrated sporting success, with Archie Weir securing a football scholarship to St Peter's University in New Jersey, and Sana Chomoko (Distinction*, A, A) gaining a place to study Sport and Exercise Psychology at Loughborough University.

Head of Year 13, Ms Penny Moore, said she felt "ecstatic" when she first saw the results, praising her students' "ambition and proactive problem solving."

Head of Sixth Form, Ms Higham, highlighted the exceptional performance in mathematics, economics, computer science and physics, which collectively produced 24 A*s, adding that "these results will live forever in my memory."
