Twickenham was brought to a standstill by the vibrant Together & Change Flashmob over London Pride weekend.
The exciting event was put together by leading disability dance and yoga groups, who brought fabulous moves and colour to the heart of the town – all to the soundtrack of Bonnie Tyler's 'Holding Out for a Hero'.
The event - held in celebration of Disability Pride Month - featured participants from Combination Dance along with Richmond RISE, Ruils, United Response, kdyoga and the Our Barn Community.
The Flashmob was hugely popular both on the street, with many locals joining the fun and even some tears, and online where video footage has been seen thousands of times.
Footage of the event also featured many wonderful local Twickenham businesses from Church Street and King Street, including Sandy's, Mint, Eel Pie Records, the Brewery Market, The People Hive and many others, who supported the initiative.
This project was part of Richmond Council's first ever Richmond Arts & Ideas Festival under the heading 'Together & Change' and was supported by Discover Twickenham BID, which represents town centre firms.
The Flashmob was provided by Combination Dance Company and NRICH Dance with choreography and guest professional dancers provided by UK leading choreographer, Damian Anyasi ,and Kingston University, together with the fabulous team from the Ultimate 80s Workout.
For those that missed it the first time you can watch the Flashmob heroes' video on the BIG screen on the Diamond Jubilee Gardens, which is also showing Wimbledon and several blockbuster movies over the coming days.
