The magical ice-skating rink at Hampton Court Palace is opening today (Friday, 21 November and will be running every day until 4 January 2026 except Christmas Day.

The open-air ice rink is located in front of Henry VIII's historic home and attracts thousands of visitors every year.

Skaters will be immersed in the magical scenes where Henry VIII once walked, surrounded by beautiful greenery, captivating fairy lights and a warm, festive experience.

Alongside fewer skaters for a more intimate experience, the traditions of Hampton Court Palace Ice Rink are enhanced, taking years of a traditional London winter staple into a whole new atmosphere.

With a brand new rink for smoother, longer-lasting skate sessions and fresh and updated skates for comfort, every detail is crafted for the perfect winter skate.

From live ice sculpting displays and a seasonal art exhibition to DJ sets and a Skating Santa, skaters of all ages and abilities can glide into a day of winter fun.

After a skate, visitors can thaw out at the rink's Café and Bar, which offers hot chocolate, mulled wine and hot toddies.

A separate ticket is required for the Hampton Court Palace Ice Rink.

Tickets cost £18 for adults, £13.50 for children aged 3 - 12, £46 for families, and £12 for wheelchair users.

However, Historic Royal Palace members get 15 per cent off their tickets.

Find out more information and book your tickets here.

Hampton Court Palace also has a variety of Christmassy events coming up this festive season, which you can find out about here.
