A Twickenham pub was the centre of attention on Monday, 10 June, as a production crew arrived to shoot the sixth series of ITV crime drama Unforgotten.

Onlookers and local residents gathered around The Rifleman pub yesterday morning as dozens of crew members prepared the area for filming, with huge spotlights being set up on nearby side streets.

The crew and cast, totalling 40 people, began filming at around 8am, filming both inside and out of the pub until midday.

While Fourth Cross Road remained open to both traffic and pedestrians for most scenes, a number of parking spaces on the surrounding streets were taken up by a variety of production vehicles, ranging from small hatchbacks to lorries.

Sixteen bays were cleared for the shoot from 7am to 2pm, including eight from the junction with Hampton Road towards The Prince of Wales Pub, which was closed during the shoot.

Locals were previously warned about the production in May in a letter addressed from the location manager of Mainstreet Pictures Tyler Harrington.

"We are a professional and conscientious crew, and we appreciate that we are very privileged to film in the borough," read the letter.

"We do not take for granted the support we are shown from residents for which we are hugely grateful."

Besides specific scenes, traffic and pedestrians were permitted along the road during the shoot. (Photo: Oliver Monk)

The crime-drama being filmed, Unforgotten, began airing in October 2015, with the most recent fifth series receiving an average viewership of 8.25 million per episode in 2023.

The programme has earned two actors BAFTAs – Tom Courtenay and Mark Bonnar – for their performances in its first and second series.

Its production in Twickenham was planned in cooperation with Richmond Council's Film Office.
