International music school plans to install new signs outside historic Twickenham bank

Plans have been put forward by a rock school to install new signs outside of an historic building in Twickenham.
American franchise, School of Rock, has submitted plans to put new signs on the exterior of the disused Barclays Bank on York Street, Twickenham.
It also wants to convert some of the interior space into a music centre with the installation of several new walls and soundproofing.
The Twickenham Barclays branch closed in 2020 and the two lower floors are now empty with the upper floor in separate residential use.

School of Rock finalised a master franchise agreement in the UK in May last year which would see the company develop 30 new schools across the country over the next 11 years.
Overseeing the UK expansion is School of Rock's Matias Puga-Hamilton who also oversaw expansion across Latin America.
Puga-Hamilton then said: "I'm eager to continue making a difference, and what better place to do so next than in the birthplace of so much of the music that we celebrate and use to educate our students around the world to this day?"

Started in the USA in 1998, the move from School of Rock would bring the company its first location in the UK.
Via its website, the music school state: "School of Rock is the world's largest and most trusted multi-location music school with tens of thousands of musicians going through our classes, workshops, camps and performance programs every day.
"Founded as a single school in Philadelphia, Pa., in 1998, School of Rock now has over 385 locations in 16 different countries, helping aspiring musicians master skills, unleash creativity, and develop tools they need to thrive in life.
"Our leadership team members combine business savvy, a passion for music and a drive to help children succeed."
Built in 1902-3, the former bank branch became a Grade II Listed Building in May 1983.
