‘Several’ cannabis plants found after fire at Twickenham restaurant

'Several' cannabis plants were found by police investigating a fire in Twickenham this weekend.
The Metropolitan Police made the discovery following the fire at the building home to Locanda Luna on Sunday, 17 August.

According to the London Fire Brigade (LFB), parts of the ground and first floors were damaged, with the fire deemed "accidental".
The brigade confirmed the blaze started in the building's ducting.
Officers were called to the scene by the LFB who, while searching for potential victims, found cannabis plants instead.

A Met Police spokesperson told Nub News:
"Officers were called at 10.51hrs by the London Fire Brigade on Sunday, 17 August to a fire at a restaurant on York Street, Twickenham.
"Searching the scene for potential victims, London Fire Brigade officers discovered several cannabis plants in the same building.
"Enquiries continue and no arrests have been made. If you have any information that could help police, please call 101 quoting CAD 2749/17Aug."
