A new community group is launching in St Margaret's this month to bring local dads together through running, conversation and support.

The Dads' Run Club – St Margaret's will hold its first session on Sunday 21 September at 9am, with weekly runs open to fathers of all abilities.

The informal group is free to join, and those with running buggies are also welcome.

After each run, participants are invited to stay for a coffee and chat, creating a relaxed space for dads to share experiences, support one another and build local connections. The aim is to promote both physical fitness and positive mental health.

Father of two and founder of the club, Chris Davies, said: "Being a dad can be incredibly rewarding but also isolating at times.

"Our goal is to create a relaxed, supportive environment where dads can get some exercise, meet other fathers, and talk openly about the challenges and joys of parenting."

Davies, a personal trainer and professional boxer, added: "Running has always been my go-to for clearing my head, de-stressing and boosting my fitness.

"Fatherhood doesn't come without its challenges, which is why I set up this club – so dads have a safe space to support each other."

The runs will typically cover distances between 5km and 10km, with routes varying each week.

The focus will be on inclusion, with everyone encouraged to run at their own pace.
