A brand new grassroots comedy night is bringing big laughs to Twickenham this March as Select Comedy launches with a line-up of circuit favourites and rising stars.

The event will take place at Patch Twickenham on Wednesday, 11 March, with doors opening at 7.30pm and the show starting at 8pm, running until around 10pm.

Run by award-nominated comedian Elliot Wengler, the night promises an evening of stand-up comedy at an affordable price while helping to build a new community comedy club in the town.

Headlining the show will be rising comedy talent Jake Donaldson, a finalist in the BBC New Comedy Award 2024 and a semi-finalist in British Comedian of the Year the same year.

Donaldson has been praised for his sharp wit and storytelling style, with the Huffington Post naming him among the "must-see new acts" at the Edinburgh Fringe.

Opening the evening will be comedian, podcaster and poet Andy Barr, who has been performing since 2010 and is known for his surreal and sardonic style.

Barr has appeared on London Live and has earned praise from fellow comedians including John Kearns and Tim Key.

Hosting the night will be Wengler himself, who recently completed his first US tour following his award-nominated Edinburgh Fringe show in 2024.

Organisers say the aim is to create a regular comedy night in Twickenham that showcases both established acts and emerging talent, while giving audiences a fun and affordable night out locally.
