Plans have been put forward to revamp the shopfront of a vacant restaurant in Twickenham.

Proposals by RZ Legacy Limited reveal a planning application to introduce a new shopfront in the style of the previous business and include a separate residential upper-floor access at 21 Church Street.

The site consists of an empty ground-floor restaurant. The design and access statement from Homecraft Global states that the restaurant (Delhi Durbar) closed after the pandemic.

Above the vacant restaurant, on the first and second floors, is an unused three-bedroom flat.

Homecraft Global said: "The proposed development within the setting of the Conservation Area would have a positive impact upon the character, appearance and significance of the Conservation Area due to the removal of an out-of-character shopfront and installation of a more traditional shopfront like others in the Conservation Area."

If plans are approved, work is expected to begin this month and finish by December 2025.
