Richmond Council has submitted plans to install a new ramp at York House for wheelchair users.

The proposals would see the ramp installed at the rear of York House to provide improved access to the Winter Gardens room.

The Council said the works would have minimal impact on the garden's open space and would "improve access and have a positive impact in terms of access provision to the open garden".

The plans include a black-painted steel handrail, York stone paving and a rendered base.

A concealed strip of LED lighting would also be incorporated "to ensure adequate visibility of the ramp for users to navigate", the Council explained.

The new ramp's handrail would match the existing one.

The proposals are set to be decided by 3 March 2026. To read the full application click here.
