Plans to build a three-bedroom house at the end of Latham Road have bee pulled by the applicant as they were unlikely to be approved.

Mr Yaohui Lin has withdrawn his application to Richmond Council for the two-storey home which would have been built on a "vacant" piece of land.

"The design of the proposed house would replicate those in the existing terrace," the application said.

"It is thought that this would be an acceptable design approach in principle, allowing the house to integrate into the surroundings.

"If this approach is adopted, it is important that the detailing and materials used carefully match the rest of the terrace.

"If seamless integration with the rest of the terrace cannot be achieved due to other constraints, other design approaches, such as deliberate contrasting with neighbouring houses, would also be considered."

The new end-terrace would have been built adjoining 37 Latham Road.

But the application was officially withdrawn earlier this August.

"The applicant was advised that the proposed scheme was unlikely to be acceptable in principle due to the impacts on the nearby tree and heritage assets," a notice on the council's planning portal said.
