Police arrest man with imitation firearm

Richmond police were yesterday called to the High Street in Whitton to prevent an attempted burglary.

Richmond police were yesterday called to the High Street in Whitton to prevent an attempted burglary. 

A male was seen by officers at shortly before 5pm attempting to break into a property on the high street with a hammer.

The male was chased by the police officers and he was then arrested.

An imitation firearm was retrieved from the male who remains in custody.

The investigation is ongoing.
