Pop-up jab clinics start this week - COVID-19 and flu vaccines on offer

By The Editor 6th Feb 2023

Walk-in vaccination clinics will start operating on Wednesday this week, offering top-up protection against Covid-19 and the flu.

Teams will be operating out of Richmond and Hillcroft Adult Community College (RHACC) and the Council's head office at York House in Twickenham.

Everyone aged 5 (on or before August 31, 2022) and over can get a 1st and 2nd dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. People aged 16 and over, and some children aged 12 to 15, can also get a booster dose.

Those aged 50 years or over, those at higher risk or who are pregnant, and frontline health and social care workers, are eligible for a seasonal booster.

Flu jabs are available for those aged 50+ or anyone typically eligible for a free flu jab.

No appointments are required, and people can just walk in. If you have recently tested positive for COVID-19, you need to wait before getting any dose of the vaccine and the number of weeks depends on how old you are.

If anyone is hesitant about the vaccine or has any questions, the pop-up clinics are an opportunity to speak to experts from the NHS in a private and confidential environment.
