Pret a Manger has revealed details of its plans to open its first outlet in Twickenham, which includes efforts to find local charities where it can donate surplus food.

The Pret Foundation aims to tackle hunger, poverty and homelessness in the UK and they are looking for Twickenham-based charities to partner to donate surplus food to at the end of each working day.

This is the first Pret to be opened in Twickenham and they are looking for at least 20 residents of the local area to join their team.

The chain is looking to open up in the Spring.

The cafe will feature the classic Pret menu as well as the increasingly popular and award-winning coffee subscription which includes five Barista-made drinks a day for just £25 a month.

Commenting on the news, Pano Christou, CEO said: "We're building a bright new future for Pret, with the aim of bringing the joy of our freshly prepared food and organic coffee to even more people.

"As part of this plan, we're opening a new shop in the heart of Twickenham, a first for Pret. So next time you're on King Street, whether you're popping in for lunch or grabbing a coffee to go, our team would love to welcome you."
