The Vicar of St Mary's in the heart of Twickenham, Jeff Hopkin Williams, has written a book detailing how the area came through Covid-19.
It is called 'The Anatomy of Shadows' and Father Jeff reflects on a remarkable time when we needed each other's company more than ever yet were prevented from doing so.
The book examines 'how to create a sense of community, when that community is not allowed to meet'.
It includes an inspiring and uplifting collection of letters and reflections, which the vicar wrote from March 2020 until February 2022.
Importantly members of the local community also offered their own contributions.
And the book details 'how people encouraged each other and found the resources to deal positively with the experience of those difficult days'.
The book includes several photographs taken during the daily walks which were permitted. These include scenes around the Church itself, together with the Thames and the area around Marble Hill Park.
Fr. Jeff said: "It is a reminder of some of the key moments in our shared story and celebrates not just the success of scientists who produced a vaccine, but also the human spirit, which brought some of us closer to each other and made us more keenly aware of what and who really matters, as we look to the future."
Copies of the book, at £15, can be obtained from St Mary`s Church, Church St Twickenham.
