Remembrance Sunday – parades and services

Residents will have the opportunity to pay their respects to those who have lost their lives in conflict at Remembrance Day services across the borough on Sunday.

The borough has a special affinity with Remembrance Sunday given that Richmond is home to The Poppy Factory.

The Factory, which produces lapel poppies and wreaths, plays a crucial role in raising funds for veterans and is marking its centenary year.

The Royal British Legion and local Church authorities have provided the details of many events happening across the coming weekend.

Services will be attended by members of the Council and the borough's MPs.

And residents are invited to join their local commemoration of British and Commonwealth soldiers, sailors, airmen and women as well as the members of the emergency services and civilians to ensure that no-one is forgotten.

Most events – to be held on Sunday - will consist of a parade of Armed Forces veterans, civic dignitaries and religious officials followed by a service and two-minute silence at 11am.
