Residents will be able to dine outdoors from next month on one of Twickenham's most famous roads.

As we reported Church Street is going car-free on a permanent basis.

And as the country enters Step 2 of the roadmap out of lockdown on April 12, restaurants are getting ready to plant their tables and chairs on the street.

Three restaurants have confirmed to Twickenham Nub News their plan to resume al fresco dining from this date.

Atmospheric Italian ristorante Osteria Pulcinella is one of these and is now taking bookings on its website.

Its fellow Italian caffetteria Masaniello is also looking forward to reopening with outdoor seating.

Indian gourmet tapas and fine dining restaurant Tsaretta Spice said it is excited to fire up its kitchen again.

The team said: "The team are busy refining recipes, ensuring the bar is fully stocked and preparing our heated, covered courtyard for alfresco diners.

"We will be serving our full Indian tapas and à la carte menus, as well as chef's fantastic weekly specials.

"To accompany your meal, you can choose from a selection of refreshing beverages - cocktails, mocktails, fine wines and Indian beers all featured on our Tipsy List. For our reopening week we will be open every day from Monday through to Sunday.

"We can't wait to welcome you back."
