Richmond Council leader delivers annual end of year message
The Leader of Richmond Council, Councillor Gareth Roberts, has delivered his annual end of year message, reflecting on the many things that the Council has achieved in the last 12 months.
In the video, Cllr Roberts tries to "rattle through" what the council has done in the last 12 months.
He talks about the Twickenham Riverside redevelopment, giving winter fuel payments to low-income pensioners "who've lost out on government support", as well as annual fuel grants.
He also mentions the council's introduction of its Fairer Access scheme to make the borough's leisure facilities "affordable for all", its launch of a new leisure strategy with a focus on women and girls, its launch of a housing improvement plan, and more.
"Were fighting Thames Water on Teddington abstraction scheme," he says. "And we're challenging Heathrow on their modernisation plans, and we're holding TFL [Transport for London] and utility companies to account with their disruptive works."
Cllr Roberts goes on to talk about other projects Richmond Council has worked on such as the Full of Life Fair, fly-tipping, the first "library of things" in Patch in Twickenham, a year-trial for path lighting on Twickenham Green, and more.
