Secret London asked its Facebook followers which London borough they think is "most beautiful" and Richmond has come out on top.

Speaking about Richmond's win, Secret London said: "It comes as no surprise, really, that Richmond took the top spot.

"In fact, it's received no shortage of accolades in the recent past. It's been named the happiest place to live in the entirety of the UK (twice!). And it was even ranked as the very best borough in London!

"And it makes sense that the borough would be praised for its beauty. It's full of stunning greenery and plenty of wildlife. That's because it's home to the likes of the Kew Gardens, Bushy Park, and Hampton Court Palace.

"It almost has the feel of a countryside town, where you can get lost in nature, whilst still being part of a bustling city.

"So, this latest recognition is just another feather in its (assumedly quite heavy by now) cap. In our poll, the borough received almost 3x as many votes as the second-placed borough."

The borough's included in Secret London's top ten list are:

  1. Richmond upon Thames
  2. Camden
  3. Kensington & Chelsea
  4. Greenwich
  5. Southwark
  6. Westminster
  7. Kingston upon Thames
  8. Tower Hamlets
  9. Islington
  10. Croydon
