Police and fire services were called to an emergency in the area of the Richmond Odeon this evening.

The area was cordoned off by the fire brigade, while the police were also involved.

Nub News is aware of the reasons for the emergency services being called in, however the Metropolitan Police has asked that details should not be published – at this time.

The police set up a cordon and closed off the Hill Street in both directions, essentially blocking what is the main artery through the centre of Richmond.

Dozens of people had gathered on the street, particularly given the fact that area is normally crowded with visitors on a Friday evening.
