Richmond Theatre is offering a day of entertainment and free circus skills training tomorrow – Tuesday.

The theatre is currently closed through the summer for building work, however the venue is putting on a show on the Little Green, which is just outside its doors.

The theme of the event has been chosen to tie with this year's panto, starring TV's Matt Baker, which has the circus at its heart.

The show is a retelling of Goldilocks and the Three Bears, which was first successfully staged at the London Palladium and starred Matt as Joey the Clown.

The Theatre said: "Richmond Theatres takes you to the circus this summer in advance of the amazing circus-themed pantomime Goldilocks and the Three Bears this Christmas.

"Ever wanted to be juggling clown? Fancy yourself as an expert stilt walker? See a future career in plate spinning?

"Little ones – and not so little – can get hands-on and try fun circus skills in this have-a-go afternoon."

No pre-booking is needed for the event, which is free to attend and runs from 11am through to 3pm.

This year's panto promises a festive extravaganza 'packed with riotous comedy, extraordinary special effects, and amazing circus tricks not to be missed'.

The Goldilocks' circus is under threat from an evil rival circus owner and, with the help of their madcap circus friends, they're battling to rescue their Big Top from ruin. All seems lost, until three brilliant bears join the gang.
