Ottolenghi could be coming to Richmond!

A license application has been submitted to Richmond Council for a restaurant's new premises license on Hill Street.

The building is the former home of the bed showroom 'And So To Bed'.

While the council's website says a business name is yet to be confirmed, a notice in the unit's window says "Notice is hereby given that Ottolenghi Limited has applied to Richmond Council on 05/12/2023 for a new premises licence for 36-38 Hill St."

Kew Gardens loses six trees in Storm Henk damage:

Amidst damage from Storm Henk, Kew Gardens announced that around six trees were lost in damage from the storm.

In a post on social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) they said: "We're sad to announce that around 6 trees were lost at Kew in Storm Henk.

"This number could have been much higher if it wasn't for our incredible Tree Gang who maintain our 14,000 trees.

Greggs has opened a new store in Richmond Station over the festive season.

The shop, which opened on 29 December, will create 19 new jobs in the area.

Thames Water Teddington Direct River Abstraction Scheme to take national planning permission route:

The Government has announced that Thames Water's Teddington DRA application is to follow a national planning process.

The controversial scheme would see water being taken from the Thames by Teddington Weir, transferring it through existing underground tunnels to the Lee Valley reservoirs, and then replacing it with treated wastewater from Mogden Sewage Treatment Works. 

This means that Thames Water will be able to apply for planning permission at a national Government level, directly from the Secretary of State.

The parents scraped a win in Moormead FC's Under 11's annual Dad's and Mum's vs Boys football match.

The match took place on New Year's Eve at Moor Mead Park, St Margarets.

The parents won to the boys 6-4.
