Commuters across south west London faced major travel disruption yesterday (Monday, 23 June) after a power supply issue affected signalling in the Wimbledon area, causing widespread delays, cancellations and alterations on all South Western Railway (SWR) routes to and from London Waterloo.

SWR said: "While the power supply issue has been fixed, services are severely disrupted, and we are asking customers not to travel unless absolutely necessary. We are sorry for the disruption this will cause.

"To help customers complete their journeys ticket acceptance is in place with other train operators and on local bus routes."

The train network has since confirmed that the incident was cleared this morning (24 June) at 6:50am.
