Eight fire engines and around 60 firefighters were called to a blaze on York Street, Twickenham, yesterday (Sunday, 17 August) morning.

The fire broke out in a building made up of a commercial unit with flats above, which appeared to be the restaurant Locanda Luna.

According to the London Fire Brigade (LFB), parts of the ground and first floors have been damaged, with no reports of any injuries.

The cause of the fire is said to be 'accidental' (credit: @StevoLaughton/X).

Two of the Brigade's 32-metre ladders were deployed to support the operation.

York Street remains closed between Arragon Road and the junction with the A310 and A305 while crews remain on site.

The Brigade said it received the first of six emergency calls at 10:41am.
