High Tide Festival
About: We are sure we don't need to tell you about Twickenham's High Tide Festival, but in a nutshell, it is a free, volunteer-run festival that has seen dozens of musicians play at iconic venues across town since its founding in 2019.
The event is mostly funded by local people and businesses, helping the organisers to fairly compensate their 60-plus line-up for their time and talent.
This year will also see three street markets hosting traders from Twickenham and the surrounding area – not to be missed. Hope to see you there!
When: Sunday 28 July
Where: All around Twickenham – check the venue list here.
Price: Free!
Disco Soul Night
About: For those who like to get retro, we've got some good news for you – Teddington Constitutional Club's Disco Soul Night is back for its 3rd anniversary!
Come join Disco Sue and Markus and strut your funky stuff, relive your youth, or just enjoy the good music (and reasonably-priced drinks).
Expect "70s disco & soul music, a handful of 60s Motown, and a splash of northern thrown in for good measure," say the organisers.
When: Friday 26 July @ 7:30pm to midnight.
Where: Teddington Constitutional Club, 5 Stanley Road, Teddington, TW11 8TP.
Price: £5, cash on the door; £4 for TCC members. "You won't get more fun for your fiver!"
The Giant Killers
About: Join The Long Lane Theatre Company for the critically-acclaimed story of football's greatest ever underdog.
Set in a poverty-stricken Lancashire around the 1870s cotton famine, the four-person performance shares the journey of Darwen FC from its humble beginnings to a shining beacon of hope for the town.
Organisers say The Giant Killers is "part love story, part social history, part recreation of the greatest football match you've never heard of" – offering something for every theatre-goer!
When: Saturday 27 July @ 7:30pm
Where: The Exchange, 75 London Rd Twickenham, London TW1 1BE.
Price: £15.
