3. Ben & Imo- Orange Tree Theatre

About: Benjamin Britten is under pressure and on a deadline.

He has just nine months to write a wildly ambitious new opera to celebrate the Coronation of Elizabeth II – and he isn't entirely sure he wants to.

And then he meets Imogen Holst: daughter of Gustav, multi-talented musician, and all-round force of nature.

As storms lash the Aldeburgh beaches, Ben and Imo race against the clock to compose an opera fit for a monarch – and test the very edges of their passionate friendship.

4. The String Circus - The Cabbage Patch

40 Elephant Gang, Ivor Game and The Semi Detached are coming to Twickenham (credit: Image supplied).

About: Kick off the bank holiday in style with The String Circus which brings three bands to The Cabbage Patch.

Rising east London folksters *40 ELEPHANT GANG* bring their perfectly crafted songs and infectious personalities to the party.

They're joined by the ever wonderful *IVOR GAME* a prolific songwriter with something like twenty albums under his belt who never fails to delight with his pocket sized vignettes.

Plus soulful folk rock from THE SEMI DETACHED.
