A care manager from Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham has been recognised at the Great British Care Awards.

Justyna Zak, who joined the organisation in August 2024, won the Home Care Registered Manager category. The local Bluebird Care team was also shortlisted for the Care Team Award.

Justyna is a qualified midwife with more than seven years' experience in health and social care, working across both nursing homes and home care services.

Bluebird Care says this range of experience has informed her approach to leading the Richmond and Twickenham service.

Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham said: "From her first day, Justyna set out a clear vision: to deliver compassionate, high-quality care that improves people's lives while supporting and recognising the staff who make it possible."

The organisation added that her leadership places emphasis on personalised care, staff development and open communication.

Bluebird also noted her work in adapting to home care, strengthening systems around quality and compliance, and introducing changes to make communication smoother for families and staff.

The Great British Care Awards state that the Home Care Registered Manager Award recognises leadership in running a home care service, including person-centred care, support for staff, and a commitment to dignity, privacy and quality.

Managers are expected to show how clients and families are involved in shaping services, and to provide clear examples of the impact on those receiving care.

Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham said the service's shortlisting for the Care Team Award reflects how staff across all roles work together to support people at home.

"At Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham, teamwork is not just a value, it is the foundation of how we deliver care," the organisation said.

The team works with families on planning and uses technology to support communication, with mentoring and wellbeing resources available for staff. Customers, the organisation says, frequently comment on the team's professionalism and reliability.
