A Twickenham care provider has shared the heartwarming story of two long-standing customers whose romance began almost six decades ago.

Bluebird Care Richmond & Twickenham shares the love story of Christine and Tony, who first met in October 1966 at a mutual friend's wedding.

The pair quickly discovered an easy connection, chatting and laughing as though they had known each other for years. After the wedding, they arranged to meet again, keen to find out whether the spark they had felt was something special.

That follow-up meeting led to regular dates, long conversations and a growing certainty that they had found lasting love.

By April the following year, Tony proposed and Christine said yes.

Just a few months later, in September, they were married, surrounded by family and friends who had watched their whirlwind romance unfold from that first meeting at the wedding.

From that day to this, Christine and Tony have built a life side by side, sharing laughter, overcoming challenges and creating decades of memories together.

Nearly 60 years on, they remain together after what first was just a simple introduction at someone else's celebration.
