Make a splash at The Lensbury this summer

If you have been walking along the Thames in Teddington lately, you may have noticed more people making the most of the river — and much of that energy is coming from The Lensbury.

The club's watersports centre is bringing a real buzz to the riverbank, with locals taking to the water for paddleboarding, kayaking and sailing, and you do not have to be a member to get involved.

Many of the sessions and courses are open to non-members too, making it easy for the whole community to give something new a try.

According to The Lensbury, paddleboarding has quickly become a firm favourite, offering a calm and sociable way to enjoy the river while getting a bit of exercise.

Sessions are designed for all abilities, so whether you are stepping on a board for the first time or already confident, there is something for everyone.

There is plenty more happening too.

From sailing and kayaking lessons to boat hire and family-friendly sessions, it is a great way to spend time outdoors close to home.

Younger residents can also get involved through junior courses and holiday programmes, building confidence and learning new skills in a fun, supportive setting.

And it is not just about getting out on the water.

The Lensbury is also home to the TEMZ floating saunas and ice baths, offering a unique way to relax right on the Thames.

Set on a pontoon by the river, visitors can move between the warmth of the sauna and the refreshing cold of the ice baths — a growing wellness trend that is all about recovery, relaxation and feeling revitalised.

Like the watersports, these sessions are open to both members and non-members.

And there is an even better reason to check it all out this month because on Saturday, 13 June, The Lensbury will be hosting its Riverside Festival, giving visitors the chance to experience everything in one place.

There will be taster sessions for watersports as well as opportunities to try the TEMZ floating saunas, making it the perfect introduction for anyone curious to give it a go.
