A GoFundMe page has been set up to help a family whose home was severely damaged by fire at the weekend.

The property in Morley Road, East Twickenham, suffered serious damage to the ground and first floors on Sunday evening.

The mother and her two twin daughters escaped the house before the Fire Brigade arrived, however they required hospital treatment for the effects of smoke inhalation.

A friend of the family, Melissa Redmayne, posted: "Much of what has not been burned is damaged by smoke and melted by the heat.

"It is a great relief to know that no family member got hurt. However, this family now must begin the painstaking process of grieving for what they have lost and begin the path of rebuilding their lives.

"It will be of crucial importance to rebuild their family home for their two adorable twin girls, Maya-Bella and Tallulah.

"Maya-Bella is well-loved Year 2 student at Deer Park School. Her sister Tallulah is a kind-hearted and sensitive neurodiverse girl who has just lost her safe haven."

She added: "Any donation no matter how small will make a difference. The money you will be providing will help not only towards the costs of making the house stable but re-creating a comfort-bringing environment for Maya-Bella and Tallulah until that happens.

"Many have asked how to help and donating to this page would be hugely appreciated."
