A man is being sought by police over the theft of a bicycle from a Twickenham school.

Police today released an image of the suspect. A boy's Vitus mountain bike was stolen on March 16 from The Richmond upon Thames School in Edgerton Road where it was locked up.

The boy's father said: "He saved up for a year and also used the sale of his old bike towards it, which makes it such a bitter experience."

The police said: "Police are investigating a theft of pedal cycle from Richmond Upon Thames School, Twickenham on March 16.

"An unknown male has been identified as a suspect.

"If you recognize this male please contact police on 101 or online with reference to crime report 0504804/21."
