A swan on the line between Kingston and Hampton Wick caused "major disruption" for commuters this morning.

In a statement on social media at 7:28am, SWR wrote "Due to animals on the railway between Kingston and Hampton Wick the line towards Shepperton is blocked.

"Train services running through these stations may be delayed or revised. Disruption is expected until 09:30."

Almost two hours of delays were caused as trains had to run slower due to the swan. 

By 9:23am, SWR announced trains were running normally and there should be no more delays.
