A walk is taking place in Ham tomorrow – Saturday - to raise awareness of violence against women and improve safety for female residents.

The White Ribbon Walk, supported by the Council and police, is part of a wider effort to raise awareness about the issue,

It will start at Ham Parade at 1pm and end at St Richards Square on Ashburnham Road. Everyone is invited to join the short walk on the day.

There will be speeches at the event led by the Mayor of Richmond upon Thames, Cllr Julia Cambridge.

As a White Ribbon accredited organisation, the Council is committed to preventing violence against women and making the borough a safe place for everyone.

Everyone can join the short walk by turning up on the day. Participants are encouraged to bring an electric torch or use their phone light to demonstrate the borough's solidarity with victims and our collective determination to eliminate the issue.
