TfL to upgrade Twickenham bus stop with digital display

Transport for London (TfL) proposes to update the advert display at its Twickenham Station Bus Stop C from still images to moving images.
In collaboration with French multinational advertising company, JCDecaux UK Limited, TfL aims to upgrade the ad display to more modern versions capable of showing live travel status updates, tourist information, and emergency messaging in the event of major incidents.
TfL states in the planning application: "The investment in modern advertising display formats at bus shelters is already part of the fabric of our estate, and this will continue through the life of the new partnership..."
"JCDecaux will act as our agent and will begin submitting applications to London Boroughs over the next few months in preparation for the transformation in 2025."
The appearance of the bus shelter itself will not change, nor will the size of the ad display.

JCDecaux says: "The use of digital technology will provide interactive functions and be capable of displaying live travel status updates and tourist information, in addition to commercial messaging.
"In the event of an emergency, TfL will be able to override the commercial messaging to display important public information via a secure portal.
"The ability to change messages remotely through a secure ISDN line and to synchronise messaging across the entire network, which is both time-sensitive and area-specific, offers an unparalleled opportunity to improve the experience for the travelling public."
