Thai Upon Thames leads month-long community clean-up efforts across Richmond

Twickenham restaurant, Thai Upon Thames, has been busy throughout March leading a series of community clean-ups across Richmond and surrounding areas.
From litter picking in parks to removing debris from the River Crane, their efforts have made a significant impact in keeping the borough clean.
The month kicked off on Sunday, 2 March when volunteers joined the Twickenham Community Tidy Up Team to clean pathways around Kneller Gardens and Mereway Gardens.
Later that afternoon and on Monday, 3rd March, they tackled Crane Park at Willow Way, collecting 19 black bags of litter, an old bike, metal scraps, toy parts, canisters, car parts, and more.
On their way home, an additional four bags were filled along the roads leading to Kneller Gardens, May Road, Colne Road, and parts of Twickenham Green.

On Friday, 7 March the group took their efforts into the river, clearing debris from Whitton Road to Crane Park, pulling out cones, a bike, and tyres.
The job wasn't finished, so on Saturday, 8 March, they returned to gather everything into bags and continued litter picking along the park, road, and subway leading to Kneller Gardens.
On Monday, 10 March, a volunteer jumped into a waste-filled river area due to faulty waders.
This effort resulted in four bags of plastic bottles and other litter being removed.
The next day, Tuesday, 11 March, saw a short visit to Crane Park's entrance, where another bag of litter was collected along with a large chair found in a thorn bush.
Efforts extended beyond Twickenham, with a clean-up at Carlisle Park, Hampton, on Wednesday, 12 March, where volunteers removed litter, used nappies, cans, and bottles.

On Friday, 14 March, two separate clean-ups took place: Redlees Park in Isleworth yielded four bags of waste, while a trip to Brazil Mill Wood in Feltham resulted in a haul of seven black bags, plus a filled builder's bag found on-site.
On Monday, 17 March, volunteers targeted St Margaret's, East Twickenham, and Twickenham, collecting four bags from the streets and another four from the bushes near Orleans School.
They also removed car debris scattered along St Margaret's Road following a crash, filling two additional bags.
The clean-up moved to Isleworth on Thursday, 20 March, with a litter pick along the streets from Ivy Bridge Retail Park to South Street.
On Saturday, 22 March, the group joined Friends of Thornbury Park in Isleworth for a morning park clean, before heading to Hampton in the afternoon to assist Friends of Hatherop Park and Oak Avenue Nature Reserve.
River cleaning was a focus on Sunday, 23 March, with volunteers removing a Lime Bike, a street pole, and various litter from the Duke of Monmouth area in Isleworth.

A large-scale operation took place on Thursday, 27 March, as Thai Upon Thames joined the Twickenham Community Tidy Up Team to clean along the A316 near the Harlequins' stadium and Richmond upon Thames College.
A railway bridge area that had become a dumping ground was also cleared.
The month wrapped up with two final clean-ups: On Saturday, 29 March, volunteers carried out two major river cleans in Crane Park, removing multiple traffic cones and tyres.
The following day, Sunday, 30 March, they returned for even more river cleaning.
