A pop-up vaccination is opening in central Twickenham today – Thursday - offering walk-in appointments for Covid-19 jabs.

The NHS and Council are trying to reach out to the hundreds of people In the central Twickenham area who have not yet been jabbed.

The clinic will also offer help and advice to people who have previously been hesitant about being vaccinated.

The vaccination and information event will be at York House, Twickenham, TW1 3BZ, from 2pm through to 6pm.

Council leader, Gareth Roberts, said the hyper local pop-ups are proving to be very popular with one held in Richmond last week attracting 40 people.

"This is great and proves it is never too late to have your vaccination," he said.

"Having the vaccine is an easy step for each of us to take to protect ourselves and those around us. If you haven't had your vaccine yet and have questions, NHS health experts (including GPs and family clinicians) will be at York House next week to help. And if you are due jabs two or three, please use this opportunity to have your next dose locally."

Anyone aged 12+ who is due their first, second or booster vaccination will be able to have their jab throughout the day. No appointments are required, and people can just walk in.

Second doses and boosters are only given to those who received their first dose eight weeks' ago or more. If you have had COVID-19 recently, you need to wait 28 days before you can have another jab.
