The Twickenham community and local Met Police officers marked the 25th anniversary of the death of PC Kulwant Sidhu who died in 1999 whilst chasing two suspected burglars.

PC Sidhu was 24 when he died after falling through a skylight on the roof of an industrial building in Colne Road, Twickenham on 24 October 1999.

At the time of the incident, a Met Police spokesperson told BBC: "When the officers arrived they obviously searched the area.

"The suspects were arrested, and some time after it was realised that Constable Sidhu was not accounted for.

"He was found on the floor of the workshop and pronounced dead at the scene by the police doctor. The two suspects had been on the roof area but it is unclear how Constable Sidhu fell to his death."

The Police Memorial Trust unveiled a memorial to PC Sidhu on 18 October 2000, which the then Prime Minister, Sir Tony Blair attended to pay his respect.
